Clear aligners are transparent, removable orthodontic devices used to straighten teeth and correct bite issues. Instead of metal brackets and wires like traditional braces, they use a series of custom-made plastic trays that gradually move your teeth into the desired position.
How clear aligners work
1. An orthodontist or dentist scans your teeth (often with 3D imaging).
2. A treatment plan is created showing how your teeth will move over time.
3. You receive a series of aligner trays, each slightly different.
4. You wear each tray for about 1–2 weeks, then switch to the next one.
5. Over time, the trays gently shift your teeth into alignment.
Most people wear them 20–22 hours per day, removing them only to eat, drink (anything except water), and brush.
